Anonymous Lord I thank you that you are “a sun and a shield” to us and because of Your grace and glory there is no good thing that You will withhold from us when we live Your way (Psalm 84:11). I pray that You would protect my relationship with Steve from any hard-heartedness that could develop between us. I pray our hearts will never grow hard toward one another. Help us to not be stubborn or rebellious, refusing to set our hearts right before You (Psalm 78:8). Teach us both to “number our days”—to value the time you have given us together—so that we may gain a heart of wisdom as you have promised in Your Word (Psalm 90:12). Take away any perversity in our hearts, so there is never any wrong attitude taking root in either of us (Psalm 101:4). Take away any pride or bitterness in us so that we will not displease You. Where our hearts have become hard, soften them toward one another. I ask that rivers of Your living water will flow in and through us at all times to soften, mend, and restore our hearts (John 7:37-38).
