MARCH 31 – APRIL 20

Do you want to lean into God’s presence more this season? Life gets busy, but fasting helps us refocus. For 21 days before Easter, as a church, we set aside distractions—like certain foods or social media—to spend intentional time with God. Whether you’re seeking direction, healing, or renewal, this is a chance to slow down and listen.

FOR YOUR FAMILY

This year, you’ll find a special section dedicated just for the family with a main idea, discussion question, and prayer prompts.

WHY DO WE PRAY?

Prayer is an invitation to connect deeper with your Creator. It’s all about talking with and listening to Jesus. While in this setting of prayer and fasting, we have the opportunity to go beyond our daily conversation with Jesus. It can bring us into intentional intimacy with Him and create space to receive direction and breakthrough, no matter what we’re praying for.

WHY DO WE FAST?

Fasting is a practice which traditionally involves giving up food for a specific time to pray and be with Jesus. It helps us focus our time, mind, and heart on talking to and hearing from God. Fasting doesn’t always have to be from food, though! Here are some different ways to fast:

  • Don’t engage with social media apps
  • Stop using electronics for a certain amount of time
  • Don’t watch TV or play video games
  • Give up a specific kind of food (like sugar or caffeine)
  • Commit to waking up an hour early every day to spend with Jesus
