About Darryl Strawberry

Former MLB star Darryl Strawberry is described as a legend by many who have been dazzled by the dynamics of his game, the power he possessed at the plate, and the story of redemption that continues to bring hope to so many lives. He has earned the legendary nicknames and phrases of one of the most feared home run hitters in the game of baseball, Straw’s Sweet Swing, Strawberry’s Field Forever, and The Legendary Straw Man! Today, Darryl’s purpose and passion are serving the Lord Jesus Christ by speaking a message of hope and helping others transform their lives through the power of the gospel.

About Ruth Rosa

Ruth Rosa currently serves as the lead counselor at Cruciform Church which she and her husband, Pastor David Rosa Jr., planted in Hollywood, Florida in 2016. Over the last decade, Ruth has had experience working with people who struggle with various mental health and substance abuse disorders. She also works as the program manager for Latin Initiatives in partnership with Redeemer City to City and teaches in the undergraduate psychology department at Trinity International University.

About Mindy Caliguire

Mindy is the co-founder and president of Soul Care, a spiritual formation ministry that exists to increase “soul health” in the Body of Christ. She serves in senior leadership for Cherith Analytics, and in the past has served in executive leadership at Gloo, and at the Willow Creek Association (WCA). She speaks and advises organizations including Stadia Church Planting, various churches, and ministries across the US and beyond. The Soul Care team serves organizations including Christ Church of the Valley, Dallas Theological Seminary, Plum Creek Church, and more. Mindy’s books include Discovering Soul Care and Spiritual Friendship, from InterVarsity Press, and STIR from Zondervan/HCC.

I don’t have a drug problem, is this for me?

This conference is for anyone dealing with recovery. This can look like recovery from depression, anxiety, substance abuse, or any other hang-up you might be facing.

Do I have to be part of a church to come?

No, this event is open to all members of our community.

Will food be provided?

Food will not be provided during this event but will be food trucks available during the breakout sessions for you to purchase food.

How long will this event be?

The conference will start at 4pm on Sunday, October 9 and end at 10pm the same day.
