Before ascending to heaven, Jesus commanded His followers to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19 NIV). And all throughout the Book of Acts, we see the apostles do just that.
Here at Calvary, we believe that baptism by full immersion in water is the next step in the Christian walk after a person has decided to follow Jesus Christ. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change. It is the opportunity to publicly identify ourselves with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Maybe you’ve made the decision to follow Jesus within the last year. Or maybe you’ve considered Calvary your church home for more than 20 years . . . Whatever stage you find yourself in, if you’re looking to grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus and get plugged in with our church, Connect is for you!
Do you want to grow in your faith and live the life God has designed for you? We believe God created us to live in relationship with others. In fact, a key component of your relationship with Jesus is sharing it in relationships with people on the same journey as you. It’s only then that we can live the full, abundant life He intends for us. But we know it’s not always easy to make friends and build meaningful relationships, even at church. That’s why groups exist—to make these life-changing relationships easy for you to engage in.
Groups at Calvary are a great way to get connected to other people and build lasting relationships. Meet with others looking to grow spiritually and study the Bible together. We have groups of all types, including groups for men, women, young adults, couples, recovery and support, and more that meet all around South Florida. So, no matter what you are looking for or where you want to be, we have a group for you.
Join the movement of more than 4,000 people as part of a group at Calvary!

For 18 years, we’ve invited the people in our neighborhood to come to our home during Christmas. And every year, our nextdoor neighbor would come. But for the first time, she came to Easter Sunday service and brought her 90-year-old mom with her. And after all these years of praying, we saw these two women come forward and dedicate their lives to Christ.
A man who grew up Hindu his whole life just moved here from India. His wife came to know Jesus and started dragging him to our church. She told him, ‘I’m going to Calvary, so you have to come.’ So, he agreed. At his first opportunity on Easter Sunday, he walked forward. ‘This is what I’ve been looking for. There’s nothing like this in the Hindu faith,’ he said as he entered the New Believers Room.
