I Believe Series: Week 2 Study Guide

Begin your time today by reading the Apostles’ Creed:

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:

And in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hades; the third day, He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Reflection Questions

  1. Why is the Bible so important?
  2. How does the Bible form the basis and foundation for our lives?
  3. What does your regular engagement with Scripture look like?
  4. Why is it important to read the whole Bible at least once in your life as a believer?
  5. When you read the Bible, do you put yourself as the main character or see yourself as the person who needs to be saved? Ask God to show you how Jesus is the main character of every story.
  6. What steps can you take to create more intentional rhythms of Scripture engagement in your life? How can you bring someone along with you?

Memory Verse

“And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.”—Luke 24:27 (NIV)

Prayer Guide

Father, thank You for the Word. Thank You for Your wonderful, living, active, life-giving self-expression, Your very breath on a page. Help me, Lord, to be devoted to the public and private reading of the Word, to build my life daily upon Scripture, and to allow Your Spirit to change me through it. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
