  1. What was your one big takeaway from this weekend’s message?
  2. In what way is joy a decision you must make and not just something you feel?
  3. How is joy different from happiness?
  4. What does it mean that the joy of the Lord is our strength?
  5. Philippians 4:4 tells us to “rejoice in the Lord always.” How is it possible to always rejoice?
  6. How are you demonstrating the joy of knowing Jesus to the people around you today?

Memory Verse

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”—John 15:9-12 (NIV)

Prayer Guide

Heavenly Father, I choose to fix my focus, not on the things of this world that are happening all around me, but on who You are and on all You have provided for me in You. I choose to rejoice in You, to consider all You have placed in my life for Your good purposes to be a joy. Help me maintain this perspective and not get distracted by the things that would move me from true joy. Teach me to press into Your grace and find delight in You. And produce in me the fruit of joy that can be seen and experienced by others so they may come to know the joy of Your salvation. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
