A Seat At The Table Action Steps

Day 1: Write down the names of your neighbors with any small facts you know about them. If you don’t know them all, try to meet them throughout the next week.

Day 2: Pray for your neighbors by name.

Day 3: Go on a prayer walk in your neighborhood and lift up your community including all the people you don’t know.

Day 4: Write a little encouraging note for a neighbor and put it on their door or front porch.

Day 5: Send an encouraging text to another neighbor.

Day 6: Think about someone in your life who may not be your neighbor but is not following Jesus. Pray for them by name.

Day 7: Send an encouraging text to the person you prayed for yesterday.

Day 8: Set up a time to get coffee or a meal together with someone in your life who is lost. It could be a neighbor or someone else.

Day 9: Go on another prayer walk, but this time, pray for the people in your life who are lost and for each person you pass while walking.

Day 10: Try striking up a conversation with a stranger in public at the store, a coffee shop, or your job. Practice showing kindness and love in simple conversations and see where it leads you.

Day 11: Pay for someone’s coffee or meal today and leave them an encouraging note if possible.

Day 12: Write another encouraging note with a Scripture on it and leave it on a different neighbor’s door or car.

Day 13: Bake cookies for your neighbors and deliver them door to door.

Day 14: Think about someone you have not seen in a while. Pray for them, and then send them a text that you are thinking of them.

Day 15: Think of someone you are not that close with at your job. Intentionally seek to talk with them today.

Day 16: Visit your local park and pray for the people you see there. Go with family or friends and do it together.

Day 17: Invite a neighbor, or a few, to a dinner party at your house to celebrate the season together.

Day 18: Intentionally pray for the dinner party and perhaps propose a block party idea to the neighbors at the dinner to see if you can start planning one.

Day 19: Send some money for a coffee to a person you have not seen in a while. Encourage them and pray for them.

Day 20: Write a list of all the people in your life who you are not currently following Jesus. They can include neighbors, family, friends, etc. Pray for them.

Day 21: Revisit your list of neighbors from the first day and write more facts you have learned about them through the past 21 days. Pray for them all again and ask God to continue building your relationships with them.
