Weekend Message Takeaway: Heaven Meets Earth

What is the geography of heaven? How big is it? What will happen to the earth? This weekend, we wrapped up our “Heaven” series as Pastor Doug examined the blueprint of heaven, its center, the new Jerusalem and the new earth, and shared what our greatest joy in heaven will be.

Watch the video below to see a few highlights from the teaching and share it with your friends via social media. To watch the message in its entirety, click here.

For the Note Takers

Let’s recap some of the key talking points from Pastor Doug's' teaching this weekend:

God Has Been Preparing a Perfect Place for Us: New heaven and earth will merge together in the same dimension with no wall of separation! No more armed angels guarding perfection from sinful mankind. The New Jerusalem—two million square miles—will be a beautiful place, an unshakeable city built by God. It will be a thirst-quenching, soul-satisfying place. And its source? The Throne of God!

On the New Earth, No Good Thing Will Be Destroyed: We’re told in 2 Peter that the heavens will pass away and the earth will be refined and renewed by fire. This will be different than the flood, which obliterated everything; this will be a purifying fire in which the Lord reclaims the earth and returns it to the original condition that was ruined and lost when mankind fell in the Garden of Eden. He will restore Eden on His terms. Like us, the earth will be redeemed and reborn.

Seeing God Face-to-Face Will Be Our Greatest Joy: The end of our desires. Everything you’ve ever found joy in came from God. He is the source of all that is good and perfect. He is the beautiful, radiant light of the universe, and we will come face-to-face with Him. There will be no shame, no guilt, no fear . . . just joy!

As citizens of heaven on earth, we are ambassadors for Christ and His kingdom. And as ambassadors, we’ve been given a mission: to tell people about this glorious place God is preparing for us; to tell the next generation, and to invite people to join us.

Quote to Remember: God has never given up on His original creation.—Pastor Doug Sauder

A Look Ahead

This Wednesday, as we continue with week five of our discipleship class series, Fort Lauderdale campus Family Pastor Reuben Ramsaran will share how we can experience redemption in every area of our lives through our relationship with Jesus.

This weekend is Mother’s Day! We hope you’ll join for a very special family service as Pastor Doug honors and shares a powerful word for all the moms, grandmothers, and spiritual moms at our church.

If you don’t have Mother’s Day plans yet, reserve a table for your family at The Grill for our annual Mother’s Day Brunch. Enjoy a delicious selection of entrees and breakfast specialties, carving stations, a Japanese sushi station, an elaborate dessert display, fresh fruit displays, roses for Mom and Grandma, and more. Brunch hours are from 10am until 3pm, so even if you don’t attend service at the Fort Lauderdale campus that day, you can still make it out.
