Weekend Message Takeaway: “God’s Design, Our Expression”

What is God's design for your family? In today's message, Pastor Doug shares what God’s Word says about raising a family and how we can experience everything the Lord has for us. Discover the importance of the example you set for your kids, how important it is to prioritize your family and invest in your kids, and the promises of God to us when we honor Him as parents.

Let’s recap some of the key talking points from Pastor Doug's teaching this weekend:

The Family Is More Powerful than it Appears (Deuteronomy 6:4–9): The first and greatest commandment is for us to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. In that same passage, parents are instructed to share the Word and truth of God with their children day and night, in the morning and evening, on the road, and in the home. Why? Because the family is the first mechanism God uses to reveal the gospel.

The Family Is More Vulnerable than it Appears: Sadly, as society continues to “progress” and “advance,” it seems as though it’s coming at the expense of people, of our children, and our loved ones. Adolescent suicide rates are higher than ever, loneliness is reportedly at an all-time high . . . and this is all happening at a time when people are more “connected” than ever. For parents, this should be a rallying cry to invest in their children, to be present, to be intentional and genuinely part of their lives.

Quote to Remember: Your kids don’t grow up to be who you tell them to be . . . they grow up to be who you are.Pastor Doug Sauder
