Hurricane Relief Efforts – Detailed

(NOTE: The following information is from communication emailed to those who registerd for our volunterr oppotrunity listed on our hurricane updates page. We wanted to share these details with everyone in the hopes more people can be involved helping our communities.)

Thank you for registering as a volunteer who would like to serve the community in with relief efforts!  We are encouraged about the great response we have received from so many and we are looking forward to serving the community with you!  As we begin to form these opportunities we will keep you informed with links with which you can register.

Currently we are working on gaining clearance to enter the Keys and evaluating and understanding the specific needs there to provide the best support as we come alongside Pastor Jeff Denis and those in the surrounding area.  We are learning that this will take a little longer than we first thought as many residence are still receiving limited access to enter the Keys and get back to their homes (and they are priority).

We are working on preparing a trip for next Saturday, Sept. 23rd either to the Keys (if we gain clearance/understanding) or to the west coast.  When the details become finalized we will email the link for this trip and future trips to you.  This will be a first come first serve reservation.  We will outline the date, time, location, requirements, and the details so you will know all that will be expected before registering.  Keep in mind that we desire to plan weekly trips so if you do not make it on the first trip, we are planning for more thereafter and will keep you informed.

Everyday there are a lot of residents here in our community who are in great need of support.  Many are either single parents, disabled, elderly, or just not physically able to take care of their needs.  Please check out the requests for help at, select “Volunteer”, select “Hurricane Irma” (under Disaster), and then select Search and you will see many needs posted.  You can meet these needs personally and communicate directly with the family who posted it via email or phone.  This is a GREAT way to Love Your Neighbor!

If you are interested in bringing a team, we are currently working on what that could look like.  If you are interested, please email your team information to and what you would like to do, dates, etc.  We will keep your information on file and as we create these opportunities we will let you know right away.  We are currently scoping out areas to see what support is in place to receive a team.  Please know that we are actively working on this.
