Weekend Message Takeaway: “A Mother’s Song”

It’s been said that being a mom is the hardest, yet most rewarding job in the world. And in the daily challenges, there often comes a lot of self-doubt and insecurity . . . a feeling that sometimes says, “I am not enough.”

This weekend, Pastor Doug shared a very powerful word of encouragement for moms, grandmothers, and spiritual moms. Through the story of Hannah, the mother of Samuel, we discovered that it’s not what we bring to the table, but what God can do with our children that we can’t.

Let’s recap some of the key talking points from Pastor Doug’s teaching this weekend:

God Understands Your Pain (1 Samuel 1:2–7): Pain has a divine purpose. Though Hannah couldn’t see it—and though we can’t see it in the midst of our trials—the Lord is working, building, and guiding the entire time.

God Hears Your Prayers (1 Samuel 1:10–18): Have you ever prayed desperately? Has your soul ever wept bitterly? Know that you NEVER cry alone. The Lord is right there with you, He hears your prayers, and He is there in the pain alongside of you, even in the silence.

God Ordains Your Purpose (1 Samuel 1:20–22): God’s plans will always come to pass, they will always be revealed in the right time. The perceived silence of God and “purposeless” pain will pass as the divine process of time comes to pass.

God Wants to Be Your Peace (1 Samuel 1:24–28): As parents, we need to learn to let go, to release our children to God. We need to surrender their souls to the purposes and will of the Lord. It’s all about trust in the One who knows what’s best for our children, in the One who loves them best.
