Honor Your Husband on Father’s Day!
“Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the Lord.”—Psalm 128:3-4 (NIV)
In Scripture, men who love and cherish their family are spoken highly of. When a man loves his family, it gives us a glimpse of his walk with the Lord. It shows how he takes his role seriously as a husband and father, and how he chooses to honor God through his duties.
This month, in celebration of Father’s Day, the Married Couples Ministry would like to challenge all the wives to show their husbands how much they love and appreciate them. Even if your marriage is not in the season of raising children, it doesn’t mean you can’t honor your husband for the godly man he is.
For all of our dads, we want to wish you a Happy Father’s Day!
Idea 1: Take Me Out to the Ball GameNot into sports but your hubby is? If so, we challenge you to surprise him by taking him to his see his favorite sports team play. Show him that it’s all about him by eating, drinking, and snacking on his favorite food! You may even want to take some time to learn about the game and impress him with your new-found knowledge of his favorite sport. Watch and see how many brownie points you can win with him!
Idea 2: Mudding for Two We’ll be honest, this next idea is not for the faint of heart—especially if you’re a clean freak. But if you’re willing to take this challenge on, we think you’ll have the time of your life. All you need is to rent or borrow a couple of bicycles, one for you and one for your hubby, find a big muddy patch . . . and then it’ll be time for the games to begin. Find out who can make each other the dirtiest by splashing mud on one another. After you’re done playing, go home, get cleaned up, and take your hubby to his favorite restaurant.
Idea 3: TV-Series Marathon Spend the evening binge-watching your hubby’s favorite TV series. Set this time aside just for him to sit back and enjoy watching TV without the guilt. Plan for the kids to spend the night at a caretaker’s house so you can stay up late together. Make his favorite meal or order his favorite take out. And then enjoy being Mr. and Mrs. Couch Potato.
